Full Fact is an independent fact-checking organisation. We remove the spin from political statements and make it easier to see the facts and context behind the claims made by the key players in British political debate.
Our main work is to:
- Analyse, challenge and expose misleading claims
- Enable people to verify or rebut claims and campaign for improved standards
The vision behind our work is for:
- Policies and debates to be explained fully so that a wider audience can understand issues
- Politicians, journalists, lobbyists and campaigners to be held to account for the claims they make
- The media’s watchdog role to be supported with more context and background
Since its conception Full Fact has been empowered by confidential advice from a range of sources including peers of all parties and the crossbenches and influential figures from the world of political journalism.
