Full Fact's evidence

In September we made an initial submission to the Inquiry.

Will Moy gave evidence on 8 Feb, and our written evidence about the press and the public (Module 1) is below.

• FF1, Initial submission (prior to the Inquiry seminars) Full Fact Submission on Regulatory Approaches and User Experience.
• FF2, Examples submission, entitled Full Fact Submission to the Leveson Inquiry. This gives examples of inaccuracies we have found through our factchecking work and our experiences of trying to get some of them corrected. We believe they are sufficient to show that there is a widespread and serious problem with basic accuracy in the press.

• FF4, Full Fact discussion of the internet and the Inquiry
• FF5, Full Fact Churnalism Corrections Correspondence provided in response to a question addressed to Chris Atkins as to whether anyone had made complaints about coverage of his churnalism stunt.

We will also be submitting evidence later in the process about the relationships between politicians and the press, and the future of regulation (Modules 3 and 4).

On 2 Dec 2011, Full Fact applied to lift the Leveson Inquiry Restriction Order, which prevented us publishing our own evidence or seeing others' in time to suggest questions to the Inquiry's counsel.

Lord Justice Leveson made a ruling making an amended Order in response to our application.
