1 April: zero hour contracts and an open letter from business leaders

The economy continues to be the election campaign's main battleground today.
Labour will be setting out its plans to ban what it calls "exploitative" zero hour contracts. We'll be keeping an eye on the detail behind announcement. We're also looking into the Conservatives' contention that the contracts account for "1 in 50 jobs in our economy".
More than 100 business leaders have praised the Government's record in an open letter to the Telegraph, saying that "Britain grew faster than any other major economy last year". It's a familiar claim and one we've checked before - we'll have more detail on this shortly.
And the Liberal Democrats are reportedly going to announce plans to triple statutory paternity leave to 6 weeks.
