It's not only businesses that feel this way. 55% of people in the UK said they disagreed or strongly disagreed that information available on the EU was simple and clear, in a survey of attitudes towards the EU in the UK conducted by the European Commission in 2010.
More recently, 67% of UK respondents said they felt people were not well informed about European matters, in another European Commission poll (5% said they didn't know and the remaining 28% felt they were well informed).
There is no shortage of claims made about Europe on both sides of the debate. Full Fact will be providing independent, impartial factchecks of these claims in the run up to the EU referendum so that the public and businesses alike can make an informed decision about how they want to vote.
