Images on social media show what appears to be a Reform UK leaflet claiming that “380 illegal boat migrants” live in Makerfield.

This is not an official figure, and isn’t reliable. We don’t know how many people who arrived via small boat actually live in the constituency.

An image has been shared online with claims it shows an Iranian footballer holding up a pink backpack in tribute to girls killed in an attack on a school.

This image isn’t real and was made using AI. Iranian footballers have previously been seen holding school bags to commemorate those killed in the attack, however.

A video of a house on fire is being shared with claims it shows the recent disorder in Belfast.

This isn’t correct. The footage shows a separate incident that occurred in Ballymena in Northern Ireland in June 2025, a year prior to the recent violence.
