Our top priorities for the new government

On 5 July, Sir Keir Starmer was appointed as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Shortly after his speech outside of Number 10, Full Fact wrote to him, congratulating him on his new role and calling on him to be true to his word to restore trust in politics.

A new government is a brand new opportunity to improve the quality of public debate, restore trust in politics, and mitigate the worst aspects of the online misinformation that causes societal harm. Full Fact will be calling on both the new government and the new Parliament to commit to prioritising these issues.
