A two-day online course for using spreadsheets more effectively at work
This course is designed for people who use data for their work and want to gain confidence in how to handle, analyse and tell stories about it to colleagues. Trainees will be put at the helm of a fictional company with messy data and learn how to improve and gain new insights from it. By the end of the course, trainees will be able to turn raw, messy data into decision-ready information. The training costs just £200 + VAT for a two day programme.

Real world data: spotting and fixing the flaws
- Practice taking a fictional company’s data and learning about its flaws through diagnostic techniques including pivot tables and data visualisations
- Learn how to resolve flaws in data using data cleanup functions
- Learn about different forms of good and bad data governance and provision from publicly-available datasets produced by government, the Office for National Statistics, and charities
- Understand what makes a data publisher trustworthy or untrustworthy
Data in the workplace: telling stories that matter
- Learn how to analyse workplace datasets including financial data (turnover, profits and forecasting)
- Understand the different forms of data storage and software that companies use
- Learn how to create compelling data visualisations out of the stories you are telling with your data
- Professionalise your spreadsheets, projects and presentations so that you are telling engaging stories to your audience
