EU citizens living in the UK who aren't British, Irish or from a commonwealth country can't vote in the general election. British citizens living abroad can vote if they've been registered to vote in the UK in the last 15 years.
There are an estimated 3.4 million non-British or Irish EU citizens living in the UK.
There are estimated to be around 3.8 million people born in the UK living abroad, but there aren't complete figures for UK citizens.
