Election update, 17 April: debates about the debate
Several of the national newspapers carry coverage of last night's debate between five opposition party leaders. The dynamics of a hung parliament, in which the Labour-SNP relationship could be decisive, preoccupy the Guardian, Telegraph and Times.

The Times also follows up its splash yesterday on the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service not to prosecute Lord Janner, a Labour peer, for alleged sexual offences. That story leads the Independent—we hope to be able to shed some light on it later today.
