Freedom of Information matters: support it

4 June 2013

Here at Full Fact we make frequent use of Freedom of Information requests. Recently they helped us uncover who was set to benefit and lose out from the Government's welfare changes, while only this week we received responses shedding light on the use of private provision in the ambulance service (look out for the full story later this week).

If we're ever looking for advice on the precise wording of an FOI request, or need help tracking down a contact to send them to, our first port of call is often the Campaign for Freedom of Information. This independent campaign has been working to help improve access to official information since 1984, and has a wealth of invaluable experience on making the most of the FOI Act.

Unfortunately the Campaign has run into financial difficulty and urgently needs help. If you would like to support the valuable work they do, please consider making a donation.
