"Little value" in claiming a Labour government would cost you an extra £3,000

A Labour government would cost you an extra £3,000, Theresa May told listeners of the Today programme morning. But this figure is based on a lot of assumptions about Labour's policies that Labour hasn't confirmed, it's also based on forecasts, which are always uncertain.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies said of the figure:

"There is little value in bandying around numbers which suggest either party would increase taxes by average of £3,000 for each working household."
