Election update, 11 April: NHS funding and access to GPs

We might be entering the home straight in the election campaign, but it's rather a different race occupying the minds of many journalists today.

Alongside that, the Independent, the Guardian and the Financial Times all lead with the Conservatives' pledge for an £8 billion real terms increase in NHS spending by 2020. We'll be taking a look at what this means for the funding gap.

Continuing on the NHS theme, the Telegraph leads with the Conservatives' pledge for over 75's to get same day access to GP's.

The I highlights grim tidings for the Conservatives in the polls, saying that Labour could win enough seats to form a coalition with the Lib Dems.
