Tesco isn’t offering a £3 ‘Meat Box’

26 January 2026

Facebook posts and adverts claiming that Tesco is selling a box packed with meat products for a bargain price are circulating online.

One claims the box can be bought for £3 for filling in a “small c‌‌u‌‌s‌‌t‌‌o‌‌m‌‌e‌‌r‌‌ ‌‌p‌‌r‌‌e‌‌f‌‌e‌‌r‌‌e‌‌n‌‌c‌‌e‌‌s‌‌ ‌‌s‌‌u‌‌r‌‌v‌‌e‌‌y‌‌”, while another from the same account says it is an “o‌‌n‌‌l‌‌i‌‌n‌‌e‌‌-‌‌o‌‌n‌‌l‌‌y‌‌ ‌‌o‌‌f‌‌f‌‌e‌‌r‌‌” to thank customers, which contains “s‌‌e‌‌l‌‌e‌‌c‌‌t‌‌e‌‌d‌‌ ‌‌c‌‌u‌‌t‌‌s‌‌ ‌‌o‌‌f‌‌ ‌‌m‌‌e‌‌a‌‌t‌‌ ‌‌a‌‌n‌‌d‌‌ ‌‌s‌‌t‌‌e‌‌a‌‌k‌‌s‌‌”.

The posts include images apparently showing a cardboard box bearing the Tesco logo filled with meat products.

But Tesco confirmed to Full Fact that this is not a genuine offer from the retailer.

A search for Tesco and ‘meat box’ produces no results resembling the deal described in these Facebook posts and adverts.

If a deal seems too good to be true, we advise being cautious and verifying whether the offer is authentic. Check to see whether it has been shared by the company’s official page.
