What was claimed

A photograph shows Donald Trump, with his daughter Ivanka when she was little, and Jeffrey Epstein.

Our verdict

This isn’t a genuine image. It is a doctored composite of two real photos taken more than ten years apart.

A misleading image that appears to show a younger Donald Trump kissing his daughter Ivanka next to Jeffrey Epstein has been altered.

The picture, which has been circulating on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and Bluesky, often has overlaid text saying “I bet he didn’t think this picture was still around!!! My my my! Mr.Trump we want answers!”. But this image is not genuine.

It is actually a composite of two different photographs taken more than 10 years apart.

The image of Mr Trump with Ivanka, his second child, is from the grand opening of the Harley Davidson Cafe in New York in October 1993. Ivanka can be seen with her right hand on a motorbike in the corner of the image being shared on social media.

The picture of convicted sex offender Epstein meanwhile, was taken at the launch of RADAR magazine at a hotel in May 2005.

However, while the image above is not genuine, it is true that Epstein did also attend the launch of the cafe in New York in 1993.

Recently published archive images and footage of events attended by both men include a photograph where Mr Trump can be seen with his young children, Eric and Ivanka, alongside Epstein at the Harley Davidson Cafe grand opening.

Epstein died in a New York prison cell in 2019 as he awaited his trial on sex trafficking charges.

Full Fact has debunked a number of edited or AI-generated pictures circulating that appear to show Mr Trump and Epstein together. However, there are genuine images and videos of the two men together.

We have seen more misleading content about President Trump and Epstein shared recently after the US Department of Justice and FBI concluded that there was no evidence Epstein kept a “client list” and confirmed his death by suicide.

During his 2024 campaign, President Trump promised to release files relating to the disgraced financier. Some of the president’s supporters have since grown frustrated with his administration’s handling of the case.
